Will Brendan Rodgers finally manage to get one over his old club this weekend, in Saturday’s early kick off?
In recent years, Leicester have suffered at the hands of merciless Liverpool. Will tomorrow be an attempt by Liverpool to re-ignite their title challenge? Or will they fall further into the realms of fifth or even to the murky depths of sixth position?
Only time will tell. But what we can is look at each teams’ capabilities…
This may not be a battle for top spot, but the race is most certainly on for European Cup qualification.
It is not all been doom and gloom for Leicester in this fixture, they did manage a 2-nil home win against Liverpool back in 2017, in the Carabao Cup.
Vardy suffered a recent groin injury but is said to be fit for Saturday, he managed a run out for 60 minutes against Brighton. Vardy does love to score against the big teams, so will this be his day, or Salah’s?
Leicester City are also without Praet, and Leicester’s contender for player of the season, Fofana. Liverpool continue to suffer in defence, through the loss of Van Dyke, and not to mention being without three other regular defenders. Matip picked up ankle ligament damage last month and is set to miss the rest of the season, another headache for Klopp.
Looking at previous encounters, it may be worth going for a BTTS bet. There have been goals galore in some matches between these two teams in recent years. It is hardly surprising, and given defensive worries, and all out attacking from both sides, you may see Vardy and Salah hitting the score sheet too.
Liverpool come into this match on the back of two defeats, whilst Leicester have had a bit of mixed fortunes; losing to Leeds a couple of weeks ago, but managing to overcome Brighton, at home, in their last match.
It is a tough one to predict the winner, as both sides will be seeing this match as a must win.
We cannot predict the winner, but would go with a BTTS bet, and maybe add either Vardy or Salah as a scorer. Odds are not great, so definitely consider using this tip in an ACCA.
Another tip is to consider each side’s disciplinary record. Check out the odds you get on going for a low card count, that may help the odds.
If we had to pick a result, we would go with a draw. Good Luck!
